This monastery is one of the most beautiful Byzantyne buildings in Greece. ‘The Blessed’ Loukas to whom this monastery is dedicated, was born in 896 in Kastri, the present Delfi. Artists from Constantinople got the order to provide this beautiful construction of ornamental mosaics and frescos.
